Antonio Gracia is an Artificial Intelligence Scientist at Boeing Research & Technology Europe (BR&TE) in Madrid. Antonio graduated as a Computer Systems Engineer from the University of Córdoba (Spain). He holds and MSc on Computer Graphics and Virtual Reality from the Universidad Rey Juan Carlos (Spain), and MSc on Advanced Computing for Science and Engineering from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (Spain), and MSc on Astronautics and Space Engineering from Cranfield University (UK) and a PhD on Computer Science from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid. In his PhD Antonio conducted research at the Center for Biomedical Technology (Spain) and applied machine learning, dimensionality reduction, optimization, supercomputing and visualization techniques for the prediction and knowledge discovery in biomedicine, such as cancer prediction and traumatic brain injury’s rehabilitation prediction. He has researched in institutions such as the Centro de Supercomputación y Visualización de Madrid (CeSViMa) and the Fraunhofer institute (Germany). Antonio worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the Space Research and Planetary Sciences Institute of the University of Bern (Switzerland), where he collaborated with the European Space Agency in several projects involving large scale data analysis and remote sensing for the Rosetta mission. He’s got over 15 journal and conference publications on applications of machine learning, data mining and artificial intelligence to diverse topics, such as biomedicine, computational biology and planetary science. He has also devised technology concepts for space systems engineering and astronautics.
